To Mrs E.A. Platts, Hyndford House,Inglemere Road, Forest Hill, London S.E.
Dear M. Arrived here from Nice last night at seven o’clock and leave in an hour’s time for Rome. Stayed the night here for the rest as we have another 12 hours journey before us to Rome. Have had a walk round the town this morning and are sorry we cannot stay longer. All the side streets are full of washing as you will see by this picture. Am smoking cigars a yard long and getting good Italian accent.
Yours, Theo.
