Venice, March 11th 1909.
To Miss L.M. Platts, Hyndford House,Inglemere Road, Forest Hill, London S.E.
My Dear Lou, We arrived here yesterday at midday. I was nearly seasick in the gondola, which is the only way of getting from the railway station to the town. One American lady said she had not reckoned on this & wanted a cab. But alas! in Venice there are no cabs. It creates a curious impression to see the Hotel Omnibus gondolas all outside the station. ....... Yours, Theo.
